Hammer turnip is a traditional elongated white turnip variety widely grown in southern Spain for fresh export markets. It is especially common in Andalucía and Cádiz export programs.

Long cylindrical (“hammer-shaped”) root, with white skin and white flesh. Tender texture and mild sweet flavour. Lower fibre content and good washing and packing resistance. The hammer turnip grows quickly, has attractive uniformity and packs efficiently in cartons.
