Kohlrabi

September — April

A growing export crop in Spain

Kohlrabi is a small but growing export vegetable in Spain, mainly produced in Murcia, Valencia, Navarra, and parts of Andalusia, where it complements other winter brassicas such as broccoli, cauliflower, and Romanesco. Spain supplies kohlrabi mainly during the European winter, when local production in Northern Europe is limited. The season starts in September/October and lasts until April/May.
